REC of GFW Hosts Fireside Chat with FWISD Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata
The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth was honored to host a Fireside Chat with Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata on July 16 at The Fort Worth Club. The evening brought REC of GFW members together for a thoughtful conversation about the future of Fort Worth ISD and the important connection between strong public schools, workforce development and the long-term growth of our region.
Dr. Licata joined the conversation during a defining chapter for Fort Worth ISD. Appointed Superintendent in March 2026 following the Texas Education Agency’s appointment of a new Board of Managers, he shared insight into his leadership priorities, his vision for the district and the work ahead as FWISD focuses on student achievement, literacy, mathematics and college, career or military readiness.
The discussion was moderated by Dean Bobby Ahdieh, Dean of Texas A&M University School of Law and Vice President for Professional Schools & Programs at Texas A&M. Dean Ahdieh guided a meaningful conversation around education, talent, economic development and the role Fort Worth’s business community can play in supporting strong outcomes for students.
Throughout the evening, Dr. Licata emphasized the importance of building a school system that can sustain progress and prepare students for future success. For members of the real estate and business community, the conversation offered a clear reminder that the strength of our schools directly shapes the future of Fort Worth’s workforce, neighborhoods and economic vitality.
