REC's Public Affairs Committee has spent the past decade addressing issues that affect development.
The Committee actively tracks, on an ongoing basis, issues related to:
Urban Infill Design Guidelines
The City of Fort Worth Water Design Manual
The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Manual
Urban Forestry Policy
The Building Permitting-Lean Process
Additionally, the Public Affairs Committee is currently addressing or has recently addressed the following:
Water & Roadway Impact Fees
Neighborhood Empowerment Zones
MUZAG (mixed-use zoning advisory group)
Stormwater Impact Areas/Local Flooding
Infill Development Ordinance
Transportation Issues and Solutions (see details below)
To gain citizen input so REC can better assist with influencing and implementing future development in the greater Fort Worth area, REC of GFW conducts a bi-annual poll of Fort Worth voters and shares those results with members, community leaders and policymakers. The latest was conducted in 2021.

The Public Affairs Committee meets monthly on the third Monday of the month at 8:00 at Dunaway Associates and on zoom.

REC of GFW maintains an active local PAC and meets and interviews with candidates running for City Council and the Tarrant County Commissioners Court.
