Updated: 2 days ago

From looming water shortages to an evolving power grid, this breakfast panel explores the innovations, infrastructure and investments shaping our region’s most critical resources.

September 25 | 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM

@River Crest Country Club

As North Texas braces for explosive population growth and a changing climate, the region faces an urgent challenge: ensuring reliable access to water and energy for generations to come.

This expert-led breakfast panel brings together Dan Buhman, General Manager of the Tarrant Regional Water District, and Wilson Peppard, Regional Director at Oncor, to explore how our region is preparing to meet rising demand. Moderated by James Hill, the discussion will highlight the complex interconnection between water and power, and the innovative solutions being deployed to safeguard both systems.

From twice-a-week lawn watering policies and recycled wastewater systems to cutting-edge microgrids and AI-powered energy management, the conversation will unpack how North Texas is:

  • Responding to a projected statewide water shortfall

  • Investing in infrastructure like reservoirs and pipelines

  • Diversifying energy sources to build grid resilience

  • Leveraging financial incentives to accelerate clean energy adoption

  • Balancing growth with conservation and sustainability

Attendees will gain valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping the region’s future, and the strategic decisions being made today to ensure a thriving North Texas tomorrow.
