A Call for CRE - Bringing More Corporate Relocations to Fort Worth

This great article, published on June 21 by Olivia Lueckemeyer of Bisnow Dallas-Fort Worth, gives an overview of Mayor Mattie Parker's vision for Fort Worth Economic Development.

As the article states, Fort Worth has been absent from the corporate relocation headlines over the past few years due to" a dearth of available speculative office space and limited funding for incentives." Mayor Parker outlines several efforts that are underway to improve Fort Worth's attractiveness, including:

  • A City Economic Development Fund.

  • The use of proceeds from expiring tax-increment finance districts.

  • Partnering with public relations firms like Schaefer Advertising to better tell the Fort Worth Story.

  • Targeting specific industries, including aerospace and defense, energy, culture, innovation and technology, infrastructure and mobility, and life sciences.

  • Texas A&M University’s expansion into Fort Worth.

  • Strategizing with large-scale developers to begin building class-A spec office space now.
