Registration is Now Open!


The new TCU School of Medicine is set to begin construction this summer in the medical innovation district in Fort Worth’s Near Southside. This school will drive economic development and biomedical advances that will create incredible opportunities for our region.

Full and Founding/Sustaining Members of REC of GFW and their renewed Young Leader guests are invited to join us at Encore Bank on Camp Bowie on Wednesday, July 13th for a Fireside Chat with Dr. Stuart Flynn - Founding Dean, and Todd Waldvogel - Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities & Campus Planning for a conversation about the newest higher education facility in our community.

We will be at the Encore Bank building at 4217 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76107.

Guests can park in the Arlington Heights UMC lot or in the InterBank lot.

Stuart D. Flynn, M.D.

Founding Dean

TCU School of Medicine


Stuart D. Flynn, M.D., is the founding dean of the TCU School of Medicine. He most recently served as founding dean of the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Previously, he was a professor of pathology and surgery at Yale University School of Medicine as well as an accomplished researcher, director of the residency program, a leader in the design and oversight of the school’s curriculum, and founding member of The Society of Distinguished Teachers at Yale.


Flynn received his medical degree and residency training from the University of Michigan and completed a fellowship in oncologic pathology at Stanford University. Flynn has authored more than 100 articles, books and monographs. He has received numerous honors including America’s Top Physician’s Award from the Consumers’ Research Council of America, the Bohmfalk Teacher of the Year Award from Yale University School of Medicine and the Averill A. Liebow Award for excellence in the teaching of residents, also at Yale. He has been a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners Pathology Test Committee and USMLE Step I Test Material Development Committee.












Todd Waldvogel, P.E.

Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities & Campus Planning

Texas Christian University


Todd Waldvogel, P.E has been the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities at Texas Christian University since 2012. He is responsible for the delivery of effective and efficient customer-focused service by Physical Plant in order to achieve and maintain a legacy of outstanding, world-class facilities for Texas Christian University. Todd oversees design, construction and renovation of all capital projects as well as necessary operations, maintenance, repair and services for existing pavements, grounds, facilities and infrastructure at TCU.


Prior to working at TCU, Todd worked for the United States Air Force as a Commander of the 9th Civil Engineering Squadron and Deputy Commander of the 375th Mission Support Group. He also worked as an assistant professor of civil engineering for the United States Air Force Academy.


Todd received his BS in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and his Masters of Engineering from Texas A&M University.
