Transforming Spaces, Empowering Lives: REC Members Explore the Center for Transforming Lives

On June 17, members of the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth gathered for a special Get (RE)al event that showcased the transformative power of thoughtful design, adaptive reuse and community-focused development.

Hosted at the Center for Transforming Lives, the evening offered attendees a unique opportunity to experience a project that demonstrates how the built environment can positively impact lives and strengthen communities.

The program began with a guided tour of the Center for Transforming Lives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women, children and families achieve economic mobility and long-term success. As attendees moved through the facility, they saw firsthand how the building's design supports the organization's mission through welcoming spaces, educational facilities, childcare areas, offices and gathering places that foster dignity, safety and connection.

Following the tour, representatives from Bennett Partners shared the story behind the adaptive reuse of the former Montgomery Ward building that now serves as the Center for Transforming Lives.

Michael Bennett, Amanda Schulte, Sarah McLaughlin and Emily Gilmore provided an inside look at the design process and the intentional decisions that shaped the project.

The evening served as a powerful reminder that real estate professionals have the ability to shape not only buildings, but also the communities they serve.
